	Giclée Media Supplies announces Natural Bright Canvas.

Giclée Media Supplies announces the immediate availability of its genuine 100% cotton Natural Bright Canvas.

This is one of Australia's few genuine 100% cotton products that features the authentic frayed thread irregular look combined with a seedless construction.

The new Natural Bright product represents excellent value for money being 15 % thicker and 20% longer per roll than its nearest competitor while featuring Eterna Media's new ultra bright European made Sirius coating system.

The Sirius coating system gives traditional looking canvas products the impact of modern cotton polyester products while preserving the underlying texture and supple stretching property of pure cotton. The product features no optical brighteners in the clear top coating and is highly crack and flake resistant.

The new canvas is fully compatible with GMS's Australian made Aquathane protective coating and its Giclée Bar stretcher bar system, including the new 50mm deep Royal Bars.

When mounted over the Royal Bars and coated with Gloss Aquathane the new Natural Bright canvas gives great visual impact with a much higher perceived value than is possible from more contrived cotton/polyester products.

For those seeking even greater visual impact and texture, GMS is set to announce availability of its top of the line canvas product - InkJet Pro Royal Edition at PMA in Brisbane. This product which will become available in limited quantities in 3Q 2008 and compliments the new Natural Bright by offering similar visual impact but with the highest texture of any inkjet product available in the world today.

New Royal and Mini InkjetPro Bars.

Giclée Media Supplies has introduced its 50mm high Royal stretcher bar designed to give maximum viewer impact to larger canvas prints. This bar is specially designed for inkjet canvas having rounded edges on all faces including the bottom tensioning face and is fully reversible to 42mm for smaller applications.

The Royal bar, seen in the centre of the photograph at left is made of finger jointed regrowth pine and is sold in packs of 9 at 3.0 metres in length. When compared to the standard 32mm bar (left) the Royal bar makes the image stand boldly from the wall increasing the perceived value of the image.

Complementing the Royal bar is the 18mm high by 42mm deep InkjetPro bar mini (right). Once again with rounded edges on the top and bottom and with the uppermost face sloping away from the canvas, this product fills out our range of regrowth pine bar products.

And with a price of under $2.00 a metre in clear timber we would invite you to compare with some of the framing companies that charge upwards of $2.70 a metre for similar bars that don't have rounded edges on the bottom and tear your canvas.

Moab's New Lasal Lustre in 44 and 60 inch – Truly Archival.

GMS is introducing Moab's new archival Lasal Lustre in 44 and 60 inch roll sizes. This product is unique to the Australian Market and defines the professional printers choice for resin-coated stock.

Lasal Lustre is made from acid free paper pulp, the same as that often used for many art papers. This base costs much more than standard acidic paper, which underpins almost all other similar products but it provides true longevity as acidic bases yellow over time.

Lasal lustre has a very attractive photographic look, featuring a low sheen. The coating is the best available in the industry today rendering more shadow detail than almost anything else. The product is brilliant white, waterproof without additional overspray and at 270gsm is far less likely to kink in larger sizes without being overly stiff and heavy.

Lasal Lustre 270 sets the benchmark in inkjet papers of its type and is now available in sizes all the way to 60 inches in width and 30 metres in length and includes the cut sheet sizes of A4 and A3+.

Lasal is the perfect compliment for the new Epson 11880 or Canon 9100 owner as it's the only archival 60 inch lustre that we know of in Australia. The new coating even caters for the owners of older Canon 5000, 8000 and 9000 printers as its new harder low sheen coating makes prints from the older machines similar to those of the newer Canon 9100.

Notes: It might interest the reader to note that almost all supposed "fade" tests are accelerated, often only taking 12 to 24 weeks under bright lights. These tests cannot simulate real world acidic yellowing over that time so they can only ever be valid when used over acid free media that won't itself contribute to yellowing. We invite the reader to ask questions of suppliers with regard to the acid free nature of the base paper.

Giclée Media Supplies is Australia's most comprehensive wholesale supplier of inkjet media. Our warehouses hold more of just about everything you can imagine for inkjet. The "GMS" logo on media, coatings and display products has been used to signify that the product is unique and made specifically for us.

The market is changing and "Giclée", the French word that has come to mean the reproduction of fine art by the use of printers that squirt ink on media, is giving way to the more general term – Inkjet.

Over the next year all products that have previously been labelled "Giclée Media Supplies" or GMS will be relabelled "InkjetPro" and the online shop will shortly be updated and renamed www.inkjetpro.com.au

In 2009 and onwards the InkjetPro shops will become physical entities in Queensland and NSW selling media, printer hardware and many other things related to the photographic industry.
