Canvas prints are everywhere nowadays but where do you go to learn how to produce a professional result? The answer is to take one of canvas printing courses that will help you produce a vastly superior result to those available at the supermarkets and chain stores.

Our GMS courses have small class sizes and often feature one on one tutoring. We cover the gamut of tasks from profiling the printer to hand stretching a finished product.

GMS courses have a commercial focus and don't get bogged down in little used colour theory. We teach what you need to know to maintain a consistently high print standard while minimising product wastage.

All successful participants in the courses will have the right to use our logo to certificate a properly prepared canvas or fine art paper print.

GMS is preparing a list of "certified" high quality canvas printers which will be made available to the public as an assurance of high image quality and print permanence.

Canvasbloc

Now it's easy to make real canvas prints in a few minutes! Canvasbloc is made from genuine Australian regrowth plantation pine and does not require stretching. Canvas block ranges in size from 10cm by 15cm to 76cm by 76cm, in three different finishes.

GMS sells a starter kit that contains a video, the cutting templates and all the materials necessary to begin making your own canvas prints in minutes.

As all canvas types must be sealed against pollution, customers can protect the finished product with Moab Desert Spray or with the water based Gicleesheild.

Acrylic Ice

Nothing looks more classy than an inkjet print encased in our new Acrylic Ice mounting system. The Acrylic Ice attaches to the wall with screws through the 4 supplied metal standoff posts or with our optional acrylic wall hanger mount. The standoffs are available in Brushed Metal, Chrome and Silver.

The Acrylic Ice looks especially modern when mounted in multiples. A single canvas print can be divided after printing and arranged over multiple mounts.

As will all canvas media, a protective coating is required to resist the ravages of household pollutants which can enter the product at the open sides. GMS recommends Moab Desert Spray for such purposes. This product provides additional UV protection without altering the look of the canvas product or making the coating stick to the acrylic in hot humid conditions

Acrylic Ice will be available with pollution resistant conservation quality US made photo-matting materials in late 2007. These custom made matts will enable the mounting of Inkjet or traditional photographic types.

Natural Bright 100% Cotton Canvas

In a synthetic world, genuine 100% cotton canvas products are rare. But even rarer is a well priced, seedless product in full length 12.2m rolls.

GMS is taking forward orders for its new Natural Bright, a canvas with the same flexibility and softness as the original Natural Zero but with image brightness equal or higher than the best cotton/polyester types.

GMS Natural Bright is a hefty 390 gsm and almost .6mm thick. It features Eterna Media's new Sirius ultra bright coating and the familiar irregular look that only a genuine 100% cotton product can give.

GMS Synthetic Photo paper is a highly glossy tear resistant signage or photographic material for dye based printers. The media is 190gsm and ultra smooth due to its polypropylene base. Quality is equal to the best paper based glossy media but the surface is more scratch resistant.
